For its first episode, the Philippine Social Science Council invited Dr. Filomin Gutierrez to talk about her newest book, Crime and Punishment in the Philippines: Beyond Politics and Spectacle.

In her interview with political scientist Matthew S. Miranda, Dr. Gutierrez discussed the different dimensions and perspectives to the criminal system in the Philippines. Through the lenses of a social scientist, they examined the ongoing drug war and juxtaposed to different factors that play a role in the unbecoming of said system.
