The Philippine Society for Public Administration (PSPA) will hold its the 2024 PSPA International Conference with the theme, “Exploring New Governance: Approaches for Sustainability and Administrative Resilience” on 5-7 December 2024 in Bacolod City, Philippines.

Taking off from the recently concluded 23rd meeting of the UN Committee of Experts of Public Administration (UN CEPA) and the glaring conclusion that we are lagging behind in attaining the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, it is time to re-evaluate our current status and re-align our vision towards aiming a sustainable, resilient, and robust form of governance.

Conference Highlights and Themes

From various experts in various fields, delegates can foster their knowledge of sustainable development and learn new governance insights toward a resilient and robust administration. There will be insightful keynote speeches by leading experts in the field, engaging parallel sessions on different aspects of governance, multiple opportunities for networking and collaboration with international and local peers, and showcases of the culture of Bacolod City.

Submissions are invited on topics including, but not limited to:

  • Principles of effective governance for sustainable development
  • Institutions, climate action and environment
  • Digital government
  • Public sector workforce
  • Public financial management
  • New governance insights to advance the SDGs and eradicate
  • poverty
  • Institution-building in fragile and conflict-affected areas

Submission Guidelines

Paper Presenters are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • The paper must be relevant to the theme and/or sub-themes of the conference;
  • The paper must be written and presented in English;
  • A 300-word abstract together with the biographical sketch of not more than 100 words of the paper presenter/s must be submitted on or before the deadline.
  • Submissions should include the following:

    • author(s) name, title, institutional affiliation, and address;
    • contact information (email and phone);
    • paper title and conference sub-theme;
    • abstract including references;

  • All submissions shall undergo a peer-review process.
  • The authors of the accepted abstracts will be notified by the organizing committee via email. Once notified, paper presenters are requested to submit the full paper and PowerPoint presentation on or before the set deadline. There should be a cover page with the following information: title of the paper, theme/sub-theme, institution or agency, country, and contact details. Further, full papers should be between 6,000 to 8,000 words following the APA 7th edition citation style.
  • Presenters are requested to speak for fifteen (15) minutes to be followed by a 5-minute open forum for each presentation.
  • Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
  • All submissions should be directed to the PSPA organizing committee via email at pspaconference2024@gmail.com with subject: [PSPA2024Conference] Paper Submission – [Title] – [Author]

Important Dates

Abstract Submission Deadline: 30 August 2024
Notification of Acceptance: 15 September 2024
Full Paper Submission Deadline: 30 September 2024
Conference Dates: 5-7 December 2024

The conference will be fully face-to-face. The organizers will ensure that all health protocols shall be properly observed.
