Dates of Implementation/Duration: 2 May 2024 to 30 June 2024
Partner Institution: Pilipinas Shell Foundation, Inc.
Objectives:
Generally, the study seeks to provide a point of reference on the current status, significant changes, and key variables of the RTS, specifically on the Mother and Child Care (MCC), Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), and Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) based on program indicators at the outcome and output levels prior to the commencement of the RTS implementation.
Specifically, the study seeks to:
- Gather baseline data relative to the program indicators of the MCC, FSL, and WASH;
- Explore and learn the current level of knowledge, attitudes, and practices of the target respondents on MCC, FSL, and WASH, and
- Identify the strengths and gaps in the current situation of program participants to guide the development of appropriate interventions for them.
Project Description:
Hinged to PSFI’s vision to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, the Root to Shoots (RTS) Program was developed in collaboration with the World Vision Development Foundation and the Manila Water Foundation. This interrelated and integrated program aims to address the underlying causes of poor nutrition in targeted project sites through the help of the following strategies: Mother and Child Care (MCC), Food Security and Livelihood (FSL), and Water Access, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).
The results of the baseline study will serve as benchmark data, which PSFI may use as a reference point in RTS implementation and future M&E activities and impact assessments. On the part of the community beneficiaries, the study’s significance lies in their ability to be empowered by the programs as well as to provide initial feedback on how their conditions have been shaped by MCC, FSL, and WASH.
