This open-call training on peer review is designed to address the needs of Filipino social scientists to learn more about peer review, improve the review process, standardize the quality of review, handle emerging ethical issues in reviewing publication manuscripts, and engage in practical exercises.

PSSC designs and conducts training workshops that aim to improve the quality and standards of social science research, publication, extension or public service work, and teaching. Some of the courses that PSSC offers are as follows:
Doing Social Science Research
PSSC offers training courses on the basics of designing, proposing, implementing, and disseminating social science research. These courses aim to enhance participants’ understanding of social scientific research; improve their ability to conceptualize and conduct independent research, including their capacity to collect, organize, process, and analyze data and write the research report; and instill in them the value and importance of disseminating and communicating their research. Training courses under this strand include:

Ethics and Data Privacy in the Social Sciences
PSSC conducts training courses that aim to give participants an understanding of the ethical principles that guide social science research; and develop their ability to recognize and deliberate on ethics issues in different phases of a research project and to formulate guidelines and apply them in the conduct of ethics review. PSSC also offers training courses that specifically delve on the concepts and principles of data privacy and how they impact the conduct of qualitative and quantitative research. Training courses under this topic include:
